Episode 83: Electioneering

THE ROTUNDA - President-elect Donald J. Trump has completed the biggest upset in modern political history. Florida politicos react to Trump’s election victory. Republican strategist and pollster Brian Graham tells Gomes that Trump was just a more exciting candidate than Hillary Clinton. Gomes also talks with retiring Leon County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho about voter fraud and travels to the University of Florida to see how students help ProPublica investigate election irregularities for a nationwide project called Electionland. Gomes then interviews The Capitolist publisher, Brian J. Burgess, about the impact of Trump's victory on the future of Florida politics.

Episode 82: Emailgate

THE ROTUNDA - As Donald J. Trump continues to improve his standing in state and national polls, his Florida campaign co-chairman Joe Gruters claims that this means Trump will win the sunshine state’s 29 electoral votes. Gruters, who is also a member of Florida State University’s Board of Trustees said he’s proud to stand with Trump despite calls for his resignation. Known for wearing many hats, the vice-chairman of the Florida Republican Party expresses his belief that he’s done a great job keeping his numerous duties separate. Gruters also elaborates on why he feels former state senator and FSU President John Thrasher deserves a 10 percent raise. In addition, the November election marks the end of Florida House Speaker Steve Crisafulli’s term in office. In one of his final in-depth interviews, Trimmel Gomes chats with Crisafulli about one of his priorities in overseeing the passage of a comprehensive water policy bill. Rich Budell with the Florida Agribusiness Council, who helped craft the bill, explains its impact on the state.

Polls: Clinton Ahead in Florida, Pennsylvania

NBC - Democrat Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the key battleground states of Florida and Pennsylvania, including by double digits in the Keystone State due to her strength in Philadelphia and its suburbs, according to two brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal polls.  In Florida, Clinton is ahead of Trump by three points among likely voters, 45 percent to 42 percent, which is within the poll's margin of error. Libertarian Gary Johnson gets 5 percent, and the Green Party's Jill Stein gets three percent. Read more on NBC News
